Family Self-Sufficiency Program

The Parkersburg Housing Authority's Family Self-Sufficiency Program (FSS) helps families receiving Section 8 Rental Assistance achieve economic success through job training, education, employment, and other supportive services. We believe in improving the quality of life through self-sufficiency and economic independence.

How the Family Self-Sufficiency Program works

The Parkersburg Housing Authority's Family Self-Sufficiency Program (FSS) helps families receiving Section 8 Rental Assistance achieve economic success through job training, education, employment, and other supportive services.

FSS helps participants

  • Select goals and achieve them one step at a time

  • Connect to area agencies, job referrals, educational opportunities, vocational training, counseling, and other resources and services as needed

  • Map a five-year action plan outlining goals and steps to succeed and receive personal guidance throughout the five year action plan

 How to join FSS

In order to participate in the FSS Program, you must be receiving assistance through theSection 8 Housing Voucher Program. For more information, please contact Jodi Saunier, FSS Coordinator.

Achieving self-sufficiency means greater security for the entire family.
